Hybrid CPU-GPU Supercomputing Cluster

Scientists and engineers at Piri Technologies have access to a unique hybrid CPU/GPU supercomputing cluster (Loren) that is used for a wide array of computational modeling. The computer hosts an impressive 4,560 computing cores and can output 341 trillion floating point operations per second in computational power. The computer is powered by Intel Xeon CPUs with NVIDIA Tesla K20x GPUs for accelerating large calculations and is routinely used for large-scale molecular dynamics and pore network modeling studies. In 2015, the Loren computing cluster was ranked among the top 500 supercomputers worldwide. This computer is directly available to customers for high performance modeling applications such as pore scale network modeling and is used to model experimental data obtained in the lab.
