Spontaneous Imbibition Testing

Our custom-designed Amott cell imbibition setups offer testing at elevated temperatures (up to 200°F) with a wide range of aqueous solutions, including those with chemical additives. Our setups are capable of handling both conventional and unconventional samples, including those with ultra-low permeability and pore volume. We ensure precise measurements with resolutions down to 0.01 ml. We follow rigorous in-house procedures for saturating and conditioning/aging reservoir core samples with reservoir crude oil. This meticulous preparation ensures that our samples accurately represent the saturation levels and native wettability of your reservoir, providing reliable and relevant test results. When used in conjunction with measurements of interfacial tension and contact angle, the spontaneous imbibition test is a powerful tool that will allow you to gain important information regarding reservoir response to the introduction of aqueous solutions, with or without chemical additives, e.g., hydraulic fracturing fluids.
