Dr. Mohammad Piri’s research is geared toward the development of a better understanding of the micro- and core-scale physics of flow and transport in man-made and naturally-occurring porous media. As the founder of Piri Technologies, Dr. Piri is passionate about bringing the cutting-edge research capabilities to industry.

Chad Deaton

Chadwick Deaton, began his career with Schlumberger in 1976 and served in a variety of international capacities, including as Executive Vice President, Oilfield Services from 1998 to 1999 and as a Senior Advisor from 1999 until 2001. In addition to many other career achievements, Mr. Deaton served as Executive Chairman of Baker Hughes Incorporated from 2012 to 2013, prior to which he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 2004.  He is also a director of the University of Wyoming Foundation and of the Houston Achievement Place. Mr. Deaton received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Wyoming in 1976.

Douglas Valleau

Mr. Valleau is a geologist with over 41 years in the petroleum industry and a principal in Strategia Innovation and Technology Advisors, LLC. Prior to joining Piri Technologies Mr. Valleau was Chief Geologist and Director of Unconventional Technology for Hess Corporation.  Mr. Valleau has held various geoscience and engineering positions with ConocoPhillips, Burlington Resources, Maxus, BHP Billiton, Monsanto, and Gulf Oil.  He has served as Geoscience Operations Manager, Global Exploration Coordinator, Corporate Risk and Strategic Planning, and Deepwater & Shelf Exploration Regional lead.  Valleau is a certified petroleum geologist registered in the State of Texas and a certified AAPG petroleum geologist.

Lamia Goual, PhD

Dr. Goual holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic School of Algiers and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London. Dr. Goual is currently and associate professor of petroleum engineering at the University of Wyoming.

Soheil Saraji, PhD

Dr. Saraji holds a B.S. and M.S. from Sharif University of Technology and a Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming, both in petroleum engineering. Dr. Saraji has a broad range of expertise in nano-scale imaging and interfacial phenomena and is currently an assistant professor at the University of Wyoming.

Mohammad Sedghi, PhD

Dr. Sedghi completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming and has completed extensive work in molecular dynamics simulation. Additionally, Dr. Sedghi has expertise in scientific programming and pore scale network modeling.

Morteza Akbarabadi, PhD

Dr. Akbarabadi has completed both a B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering. He has expertise in experimental design and implementation for high pressure/temperature applications and macro-scale CT imaging.

Mahdi Khishvand, PhD

Dr. Khishvand holds both a Ph.D. and M.S. in petroleum engineering. He has expertise in high temperature/pressure core flooding applications as well as EOR and interfacial phenomena.

Maziar Arshadi, PhD

Dr. Arshadi completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming in Petroleum engineering and has expertise in multi-phase flow in fractures as well as complex micro-CT experimental techniques.
